Welcome to the Village of Silver Lake Fire Department!

The Department

We are a volunteer fire department with a 31-member roster.  All members live in the village or surrounding communities. No members are paid to respond to calls or for training. (If you would like to join, stop by the firehouse the 1st Thursday of the month at 7:00pm). We are dispatched to calls through a county dispatch center located in Kenosha and we all carry pagers picking up the fire frequency 154.250.  When an emergency call comes in, we respond to the firehouse, and are on scene of the emergency within minutes of receiving the call.

The Community

Our fire protection district is within the village limits although we do respond to mutual aid calls to neighboring departments. Mutual aid is when a neighboring department has an emergency situation that requires more resources then they have available. We also call on neighboring departments to respond to our calls.

Dial 911

Don’t be afraid to DIAL 911 in any type of an emergency. We are a volunteer department. We are members because we love what we do and we want to help the community. We train hard in a wide variety of situations to be able to serve you in any way we can. DIAL 911 no matter how small you think the problem is. It may start out as a small problem, but it can very easily escalate into a major disaster. The sooner you DIAL 911 the quicker we can respond and help.
